DPS Calculator Anime Vanguards
The DPS calculator Anime Vanguards players need can turn a unit's test numbers into a comparable estimate. Enter damage, attack timing, hits, critical chance, critical multiplier, and real uptime; the result shows base DPS, expected critical DPS, and damage per minute.

Estimated result
Estimated result
This estimate assumes a stable interval and average critical frequency. It does not simulate enemy armor, buffs, debuffs, pathing, or animation canceling.
Formula and inputs
DPS is useful for a controlled comparison, not a promise that one unit always wins. Keep the stage, target, trait, upgrade level, and support buffs consistent when comparing two tests.
| Input | Used in the estimate | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Damage per hit | Damage × hits | The starting amount before critical effects. |
| Attack interval | Damage ÷ seconds | A fast cycle can outweigh a larger single hit. |
| Critical chance and multiplier | Base DPS × (1 + chance × (multiplier − 1)) | Converts occasional critical hits into an expected average. |
| Effective uptime | Expected DPS × uptime | Accounts for targeting gaps and real stage time. |
How to use this Anime Vanguards DPS calculator
1. Pick a starting input
Select a preset only to see how the calculator behaves. For a real comparison, choose Custom input and copy the values from the same upgrade state for both units.
2. Keep the test conditions equal
Measure both units against the same target type and stage. Record whether buffs, traits, bleed, splash damage, or a boss phase are included; mixing conditions makes the result misleading.
3. Enter timing, not just damage
A displayed attack number is not DPS until it is paired with an attack interval. Include the time between volleys and use Hits per cycle only for damage events that really land.
4. Apply realistic uptime
Set uptime below 100 when a unit loses targets, waits for a lane, cannot reach a boss, or is limited by placement. This prevents a perfect dummy test from deciding a real stage.
5. Read the result with role context
Use the number beside the unit's job. A support, economy, range, or bleed effect can improve a run even when its direct DPS is lower than a pure carry.
Example: compare a wave carry with a boss test
Suppose a test records 1,450 damage every 1.8 seconds, with one hit, 15% critical chance, a 1.6 multiplier, and 100% uptime. The calculator estimates a base DPS near 806 and an expected critical DPS near 879. Change uptime to 75% for a boss phase with targeting gaps; the expected value drops to about 659 DPS. That difference explains why a dummy screenshot and a live stage can produce different rankings.
| Test | Damage | Interval | Crit | Uptime | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wave clear | Normal hit | Include full cycle | Average chance | 90-100% | Compare stable lane cleanup. |
| Boss window | Boss damage | Include cooldown | Use current trait | 50-90% | Compare damage during the phase you can actually hit. |
| Trait check | Before and after | Same unit | Same chance | Same value | Isolate the trait change instead of changing every input. |
Accuracy, limits, and update checks
This is an estimate tool, not an official Anime Vanguards stat database. Public unit values, traits, enemy defenses, and update behavior can change. Record the patch or date beside your test so an old result is not treated as current.
The formula does not model armor, damage types, bleed ticks, splash falloff, range, stun, slow, economy, placement caps, support buffs, or pathing. Use the tier list and units database for role context, then test the candidate in the stage that matters to your account.
Do not use a high number to justify spending gems automatically. A unit that reaches fewer targets or needs a support slot may produce less account value than the raw estimate suggests. Treat the calculator as one input in a team decision.
Use the result with the wiki
Pair the estimate with role, upgrade, and resource context before you change your team.
Anime Vanguards DPS calculator FAQ
What does the Anime Vanguards DPS calculator measure?
It estimates average single-cycle damage over time from damage, attack interval, hits, critical chance, critical multiplier, and effective uptime. It does not claim to reproduce every hidden game mechanic.
Why is my in-game DPS lower than the calculator result?
The usual causes are missed targets, animation delay, enemy defense, range, pathing, buffs that were not present, or uptime below the value entered. Lower uptime and repeat the same stage test.
Should I use a unit's displayed damage as DPS?
No. Divide damage by the full attack interval and include every hit that lands. A slower unit can have a larger hit while still producing lower sustained DPS.
Can I compare traits with this calculator?
Yes, if you keep the unit, stage, upgrade, and timing constant. Enter the before and after values separately and change only the trait effect you actually measured.
Is this an official Anime Vanguards calculator?
No. It is an independent planning tool. Verify current unit and trait behavior in Roblox before spending gems or materials.
Quick decision rule
Use the calculator to make two controlled tests comparable, then return to the unit role and team problem. The best choice is the unit that improves the stage you are trying to clear, not automatically the one with the largest dummy DPS.
When an update changes attack timing, traits, enemy defenses, or placement rules, rerun the test and record the date. That keeps the estimate useful without turning a temporary number into a permanent tier claim.
